1996 Porsche 993 73k original miles!

1996 Porsche 993 Coupe-73k miles

When Porsche introduced the 901 (later 911) in late 1963 the excitement in the room was palpable. The very shape was simply a masterpiece. In the ensuing 35 years Porsche finely tuned that shape and created an icon. The final iteration of this icon was the 993, which took the original, unmistakable shape and updated it yet kept it firmly rooted in its traditional design language. Even 20 years later the 993 draws attention wherever it goes, its simply a gorgeous car and a fine tribute as the final air-cooled 911. If you are like me, a Porsche fanatic, you simply need a 993 in your garage. Here is one to consider:

This particular 993 is the traditional configuration of fixed roof, rear wheel drive coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission, just a pure sports car! This car is finished in stunning Arena Red over Classic gray, a great contrast. Porsche loved Arena Red so much they used it almost exclusively for the ad campaign for the 993 TURBO. How many of us had a 993 in Arena Red as a poster on our wall?

The body and paint show well on this car. It has had 3M clearfilm on the hood, front fenders and bumper so it is remarkably chip free. The car has all original paint with exception of the drivers door and left rear quarter that have had paint work. The Carfax and title are both clean with no negative information.

The interior is clean and everything works as designed. The best thing about the interior? This car features the uber rare and valuable hard-back sport seats! When new this option was just $730, on the used market these seats are selling for $5-7k! Crazy! They simply complete the interior on a 993!

The car has a few tasteful updates such as OEM Porsche 18” Wheels, which are commonly called the MY02, as they were first, featured on the 911 in Model Year 2002. They are made by BBS and are the lightest OEM 18” wheel ever made by Porsche. The car also features a set of lowering springs to bring the car to a more visually pleasing Rest of World (ROW) ride height. The stereo head unit has also been updated to allow the use of modern accessories such as an IPOD, USB, etc. The shift knob is a later OEM Porsche Aluminum/Leather piece.

Mechanically the car runs and drives as a good 993 should with no major needs. The car comes complete with all the expected (but often missing) items such as all the books and manuals, two keys, tool kit, air pump, jack and a copy of the window sticker. Unfortunately I have very limited service history outside the most recent service items and a stamped maintenance book.

This 993 is ready for its next loving home, is that yours?
