2002 996 Concours Quality with only 34k Original Miles!!!

2002 Porsche 996. This is the no stories, no excuses 2002 996 6-speed coupe you have been looking for. Here are the particulars:

The car was originally sold at Carrera Motors on August 8th 2002. The first owner traded the car back in to Carrera and it was sold as a Porsche Certified Pre-Owned in January of 2005 with 12,645 miles. This PCA member then sold the car to another local PCA member when it had 17,537 miles in March of 2007. I took the car in on trade in 2010 when it had 24,999 miles and sold it to another local PCA member. So in the last 13 years it has traded hands among knowledgeable, long-term PCA members who loved and cherished it. Are you the kind of owner that will give it the love it deserves? If so, come be my 3rd customer to enjoy this car!

I searched my brain for a superlative that would accurately describe this car, perfect or mint condition are overused, I have seen them applied to ratty cars that have been well detailed and photographed! The best description I have is “Concours”. Come see the car, if you think it has not been described accurately I will buy your fuel for your return trip home!

I have attached a photo of the original window sticker so you can see how it is equipped, but here is a summary:

Base MSRP: $67900

3M StonGard was applied on all sections susceptible to damage such as the complete front end, headlights, mirrors, lower rear rocker panels, etc. As a result there are almost no rock chips anywhere on this car!

 Exterior: Overall 9.9/10

Paint- Speed Yellow. Simply stunning! It has no fade or oxidation whatsoever! No Swirl marks, polished and treated to the highest standard. No rock chips, nicks, scratches, anywhere!

Body- The car has never been in an accident. Clean history (have copy) There is not even a single door ding, anywhere!

Body Parts  The glass is in perfect shape. The windshield is original. No road blast. All of the body rubber is soft and beautiful.

Wheels- The car is sitting on its original set of optional 18” Sport Classic alloys with a set of Michelin Pilots that were installed at 24,011 miles, as such they are nearing time for replacement. The wheels have not a single flaw or mark, no curb rash; it shows incredible care.

Interior-

Overall the interior I would categorize as a 9.9/10. This car has never been smoked in, had kids or pets in it, nor even been ate in! I would challenge the pickiest person to scrutinize the interior and prove me wrong!

Seats: The leather is FLAWLESS; I cannot find flaw.

Carpet: The carpet is also perfect and has the original OEM floormats. One way you can tell a really nice car from one that has just been seriously detailed is look in between the seats and the console, a detailed car will still show stains on the carpet down in that crack, mine is as clean between the seats as the regular carpet in the car.

Dash: The dash pad is PERFECT. No fades, cracks etc. The steering wheel shows no signs of wear.

Door panels and Headliner: They are all in excellent shape, no wear or sagging.

Electronics and gauges: EVERYTHING on this car works. Including all gauges, outside temp, all power seat functions, windows, sunroof, climate control, door locks, reading lights, cruise control, dash lights, etc.

Trunk and accessories: The trunk carpet is in like new condition, the never used spare and all tools are present. The trunk threshold shows not a single mark, which means the trunk has been rarely and lightly used. It comes with an OEM fitted car cover. The car is complete with all the original books, window sticker, full service history and all three original keys.

Mechanical:

The car has covered just 34,5xx miles since new so not a lot to report. The 320 horsepower flat 6 starts up and runs just like you think a Porsche should, hold on! The car has no history of any mechanical problems, nor any warranty claims. I have a full service history from the original Pre-delivery inspection to current. It has a recent oil service and brake fluid flush and needs nothing.

The big new is that I had the preventive maintenance just done on the car. I had the IMS bearing updated with the kit from LN engineering, installed a new Rear main seal, LN magnetic drain plug and did the annual service. This work was just completed 8/31/2015 less than 100 miles ago. If you are shopping for any 1999-2005 996/997, make sure this work has been done.

For those not familiar the 2002 cars are highly desirable versus the earlier 1999-2001 996 cars because several key improvements were made, such as: Displacement increased via a stroke increase to 82.8 mm taking displacement to 3596cc. Horsepower increased to 320. Variocam Plus came around that was continuously variable, improving performance throughout the rev range. These motors do not suffer many of the early maladies such as porous crankcases, RMS failures, and the like. Check this out before you buy an early car, ever wonder why they are so much cheaper? Inside the interior the cupholder was vastly improved, the central airvent is 20% bigger for greater airflow, the multifunction display got bigger and the electronic speedo moved to its correct spot at the bottom of the analog speedo.

You can probably tell that I REALLY like this car… As prices on air-cooled Porsche’s have risen to the moon here is a chance to own a great 911 at the price of a VERY ratty 911SC! You wont find a nicer one anywhere, hurry up and come buy it before I decide to park it in my garage!
