2008 Porsche RS60 Spyder with just 8,800 1-owner miles!
In 2008 Porsche built 1960 of these very special RS60 cars to honor the 1960 Type 718 RS60 Spyder, which landed Porsche’s first win in the 12 hours of Sebring. The Porsche designers and engineers did an amazing job on this car and it’s just stunning!
The list of changes between the RS and the regular Boxster “S” is too voluminous to list here; here are a few examples of the myriad changes:
-Specially tuned ECU and Porsche sport exhaust raising output to 303hp vs. 295 in the Boxster S
-19” wheels with spacers to widen the track and fill out the fenders
-GT Silver paint, normally a $3,140 up charge just for that color!
-Carrera Red Full Leather- This interior MAKES this car, wow!
-Sport Seats with GT Silver backs, GT Silver Roll hoops, Silver Seatbelts, special RS only instrument binnacle, RS only black front windshield trim, full red taillights, aerokit front spoiler, Porsche Active Stability Management, and on and on…
You couldn’t build a Boxster like this if you tried!
This particular car was sold new at Porsche of Santa Barbara on May 2nd 2008 to its one and only owner. This owner is a longtime PCA member and VERY particular about his cars! As you would expect it has never been damaged and is indistinguishable from new! It has 100% original paint, clean Carfax, no modifications of any kind and there are no stories or excuses. It has lived solely in climate ideal California and Nevada and I was lucky enough to personally drive this car up from Nevada, adding almost exactly 1,000 miles of fun filled driving!
Here is how the car is equipped:
- Self-Dim Mirrors and Rain Sensor- $690
- Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package- $1090
- Heated Front Seats-$500
- Porsche Windstop-$375
- Automatic Climate Control-$550
- Sport Chrono-$960
Total Original Price $69,925!
Immediately upon arriving home I had the “40k Major” service done, clearly not due to mileage, but simply for time, the following work was completed:
- Engine Oil and Filter (cut open filter and it was spotless)
- 6 new sparkplugs
- Brake fluid flush
- New Air Filter
- New Cabin Air Filter
- New Drive Belt
- Full inspection (no issues noted!)
Sadly when driving home I jinxed myself, as I carefully taped up the entire front end to make sure I didn’t pick up any rock chips and lo and behold a truck threw up a rock and cracked the windshield (you can see this in a couple of the photos). I had a brand new OEM windshield installed ($1,200 ouch!) so the good news is it is literally flawless (I hate windshields that have any sand pitting….). I also just ordered a set of 4 Continental Extreme Contacts; to be installed as the current tires are aged out. You know me; I like them as perfect as possible…
It comes with all the important items such as: Original books and manuals, service records, original keys, the original window sticker and the Certificate of Authenticity. If you have been shopping, sure you might find a cheaper one, but will you find a better one??
