2017 Porsche 718 Cayman “S”-5,500 miles
I have long said that if Porsche had developed a mid-engine Sports Car first, then the 911, as we know it would not exist. As a loyalist who loves his rear engine sports cars, this is hard to admit but the simple physics of the mid-engine layout just makes sense.
When Porsche introduced the Cayman in 2006 I was smitten, it did everything that a “pure” Porsche should do, without excess frills or flash. They improved the formula with each succeeding generation, but I think with the latest 718 iteration they really truly nailed it. Dare I say it? If I had to buy a late model Porsche, the one that would be in my garage is a 718 Cayman. I love the size, the purity and the handling. It’s a package that simply works.
Enough about my feelings; lets talk about this particular Cayman. This car was purchased brand new by a long-time local client and fellow car fanatic. Him and I share the same disorders: obsessive compulsive and short attention span! This car is literally as new in every respect. 100% original paint, never been damaged, repaired, driven in anger or been mis-treated in any way. Upon receiving the car he immediately had the entire front end covered in XPEL clear film and had the windows tinted to protect the car. You wont find flaw in this one!
Now the big key when buying one of these is options, on a Porsche options are king and they are ordered ala-carte, so the key is finding one ordered with the right options. This was is loaded:
