1984 Porsche 3.2 Carrera Coupe-Grand Prix White on Black, 5-speed, sport seats, LSD, all original w/ just 42k miles, this is the one!

It is no secret that I am a huge fan of the 3.2 Carrera and find it is my most oft recommended 1st “Classic” Porsche. I could go on for days as to why, but in basic summary:

• Introduced in 1984 it represented 20 years of learning, refinement, and constant engineering updates. They perfected the “recipe” if you will.
• One thing they did not do is complicate said recipe: even by 1984 standards the 3.2 was not a fully modern car. What was it then? It was an engineers love song to excellence without compromise, elegant simplicity, and a commitment to the driving experience. These values are timeless, hence why this car resonates with so many.
• The next generation, the 964 and the following 993, are amazing cars BUT they did add a layer of complexity to the formula. All wonderful things, but there is something so satisfying of the 911 experience at zenith moment of development prior to radical change.

So now you are sold on the 3.2, why THIS car? Good question! This particular car is just one of those inexplicable “as it should be” examples. That probably isn’t the right word choice but what I am attempting to distill is that when you interact with this car, whether it be visually or as a driver , it’s just so. Sadly I inspect so many of these cars that are fallen and broken examples of true greatness. I hate that and try my hardest never to darken a customers driveway with examples like that! Funny enough this particular car has belonged to a longtime client of mine who has quite a notable collection spanning more than 30 Porsche’s and YET he has owned this car longer than ALL of them! When I asked him why, he simply said “I feel good in it”. That simplicity is the magic of a good 3.2!

• No stories or excuses, just a honest, great driving 3.2!
